Everything Bagel Seasoning. The king (or queen) of everything in your spice rack.
When I think of “diet” or “restriction”, the nerves in my body start to go haywire. Anxiety kicks in and I can feel myself starting to fail and I haven’t even attempted anything to fail at. Diets or fads have never been a strong suite of mine. I can’t have restrictions otherwise the little rebel in me wants to throw all rules out the window, find the nearest bagel shop and eat my weight in round circles of dough.
Luckily, my new lifestyle (with the help of Weight Watchers) lets me have that bagel anytime I darn well please; a guilt free bagel at that! So let’s say I’ve got a hankering for a bagel. Which one do I chose? 50% of the time it’ll be a cinnamon raisin or blueberry, but there’s the other 50% that wants a salty/savory one. That would be the Everything Bagel.
It’s got sesame seeds, garlic, onion, poppy seeds, salt and oh my goodness does it go well with some egg and avocado. Just perfect.
But what about those mornings or afternoons where the Everything bagel doesn’t really fit into my plan? Most likely it’s not the actual bagel part I want, it’s that beloved seasoning! It was rather difficult to find, so I just made my own! (EDIT: Trader Joes now sells it!) I LOVE sprinkling this on chicken, avocado, eggs, potatoes, etc. So if you’re having a hard time finding this seasoning, might as well make it yourself.
Everything Bagel Seasoning

2 tbsp poppy seeds
2 tbsp tossed sesame seeds

Directions:
• Combine all ingredients into a spice jar or small container with a lid.
• Shake well each time before using.
• Enjoy!

Everything bagels are heaven sent. I found my seasoning on Amazon. (We just got a TJ’s last year and I still haven’t braved the crowds to go check it out.) I saved your recipe though for when I run out of mine. Thanks!
