Skinny Green Tea Latte

skinny green tea latte | my skinny sweet tooth

I have a love/hate relationship with green tea. I love how great it is for my body (so many benefits!!) Yet, if I had a cup of plain green tea sitting in front of me, I’d look away … too bitter for my taste! Please pass the sugar. So with that said, I’ve been known to buy “flavored” green tea (i.e. Green tea kombucha, blueberry green tea, etc)

This latte makes me CRAVE green tea. I wake up excited knowing its waiting for me make hot or in the fridge to enjoy cold. It’s creamy, earthy and slightly sweet, oh, and no Starbucks needed! You can throw this together faster than saying:

“Yes, I’d like a venti non-fat green tea latte, no whip, no syrup, I’m late for work, here’s my $5”.

I’ve had a skinny green tea latte every morning this week and wasn’t late for work. I was actually early … and energized. You could easily say that I’m addicted. I feel fantastic after I drink it (props to the green tea!) and it’s a whole naughty vs. nourish thing going on. It’s only 1pp yet, I feel like I’m truly indulging in something decadent. It’s a win win for my body, mind, and taste buds. In the warmer month, you can have a cold latte. Colder months? Drink this baby warm! It’s great both ways!

Make a big batch of green tea to have on hand anytime the craving hits. It’s easy!

•Before going to bed, in a pint mason jar (or cup with a lid) steep 2 green tea bags 1C hot water (not boiling) for 4 min. (Or make a batch ahead of time.)
•Remove the tea bags and place in the fridge overnight (allow to come to room temperature before placing in the fridge if possible) .

  1. I just made this, but without the vanilla extract (I’m on an anti candida diet) and with coconut milk instead of almond. It was sooooo delicious. I just found my new favorite drink. Thank you thank you! 🙂 One thing I will say to anyone looking to make this, make sure you let the tea bags steep for the full 4 minutes so that you get that rich green tea flavor. 🙂 can’t wait to try it with almond milk!

  2. Wow! I did it with Chai tea instead and I feel I’m having it from Starbucks. I saved a few dollars doing it myself at home. Many thanks. Next will try the green tea once I buy. Loving your blog. Great job!
